Northern Lights and Newcastle Library

So, living in the frozen North of England has suddenly become very much like living in a snowglobe. Pallid winter sunshine this morning had a blizzard snapping at its heels, and it's only just stopped snowing.

Despite the cold toes, wet drudgery and de-icer that comes with snow, it IS really rather wonderful, isn't it! There's a distinct and festive hint of christmas in the air - not least because this afternoon, we called in at Northern Lights. It's an absolutely BEAUTIFUL shop. Whether you're looking for vintage treasures, christmas retro chic or just candy for your eyes, it's perfect. (And it's also, I'm proud to say, the ONLY place you can buy my illustrated greetings cards).

Also, If you happen to live in the Newcastle area, I'm heading up for a Wychwood event next Saturday (the 4th of December) from 2pm - 3pm at the shiny new City Library. We'll be making sparkly fairy christmas tree decorations and tiaras, there'll be a fairy fancy dress competition (with a signed copy of the book going to the winner) and lots of other magical activities! You'll need to book a place, and you can do so on 0191 2774100, or by emailing information@newcastle.gov.uk. If you can't make it to the workshop but already have a copy of 'The Wychwood Fairies', do drop by at around 3ish and I'll be happy to sign it for you!
